Dallas Athent’s work explores the intimate architecture of the human psyche through the lens of physical space. Her paintings treat interiors not as backgrounds, but as extensions of emotional states—elaborate, surreal rooms that pulse with memory, tension, and transformation. Drawing from classical European design, she constructs ornate environments where elegance and erosion coexist, reflecting the beauty and fragility of lived experience.
At the heart of Athent’s visual language is the fusion of body and building. Limbs curve into staircases, torsos anchor archways, and hair spills across velvet upholstery—suggesting that the inner self is always embedded in the spaces we inhabit. Her use of surreal forms and anatomical distortions challenges the viewer’s perception, inviting them into a world where the boundary between physical and psychological is intentionally blurred.
Through this spatial storytelling, Athent meditates on femininity, trauma, memory, and the slow passage of time.
